I completed my undergraduate training at Peking University in Beijing, where I received my BS in Psychology with a minor in Computer Science in 2004. While there, I worked with Dr. Shihui Han in the Center for Brain and Cognitive Sciences, examining the effect of attention on visual perception, in particular, Gestalt grouping. Though not every experiment worked out as expected, I was lucky enough to become familiarized with psychophysical testing, ERP (Event-Related Potentials), and TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation). I was also an active fMRI (functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging) subject.
I started graduate school at Rice University in Houston, TX in 2004, and received my MA in Psychology in 2007. I am now a fifth year graduate student in the Cognitive Neuroscience track, working with Dr. Denise Chen to study human olfaction and olfactory communication of emotions (Please refer to my Research Interests).
I like both places for their beautiful campuses, and for the great people I worked and have been working with.
